Thanks. I do make minestrone sometimes. And also make a sausage and creamy tomato tortellini soup, one of my favorites. But made this with a good amount of cannelli beans so didn't need pasta too. I make a lot of homeade soups in the winter.

Just finished a big crock of soup. 4 day hunting weekend and this is perfect during the midday break. Smoked venison sausage, white cannelli beans, carrots, celery, onion, roasted garlic, spinach, with chicken and vegetable stock. So good.

No gutpiles......that's it, I'm coming out there! Will hopefully be out tomorrow after work and then Thurs-sunday. Weather is looking great. And Thurs forecasted wind interests me. East in the morn, W in the afternoon. Got a plan for a couple of our best stands to be in play! Thinking Wednesday night an edge of the property hunt and does are in play. Then maybe an all day sit on Saturday for the xbow opener.

Biz makes a good point. Esp since we will be more than halfway thru at week 7. Love to have more the merrier but prob not fair to everyone since we did burn 6 picks already that a lot of people wish they could pick again. Hopefully we can do it again next season and you best be in! I already burned you as a pick myself too early!

i bought some ammo at walmart a while back and at the register they asked if it was for a handgun (now this was 30/30 ammo) and i asked why...... the person said they have to ask...... i again asked why...... the person said its the law......and thus i told them it was not "the law". And they sold me the ammo.... lol

wont be back out hunting til Wed but then i have Wed after work thru Sunday to hunt, and the xbow opener on Sat. Hoping to run into this buck, he is all over the place. That stand is funny. When we first got permission to hunt the property I quick put up a couple of stands for the two other guys to use in nice laneways. I had already tagged with bow so i just thru up a 9ft stand quick in the middle of the property 2 days before gun season to use. And wouldnt you know it - I tagged on a buck opening day. lol (one of my buddies did shoot at and miss a slammer so I didnt feel too bad). But since then have had shots there and one of my buddies tag out of that stand as well. Its in the thick swamp and there is no way to get a bowshot in there. I also am on the waitlist for some hornady 12's from Buds online. But i did get a couple more packs in the spring from them.

The Checkbuck! He is on 4 different cams in the last week. Saw him twice the last 4 days i hunted - once before dark and once just after sunup but not in bow range.

Hunt #19. 4:00-dark. Swamp stand. Some new scrapes right by this stand and some buck pics including the Check Buck. But no action Tonite. Water was up to the top of boots to get into the stand. I've now been in every stand on our hunting spot except Opener. Which I usually save for opening day of gun. A fun 4 days off of chasing that 8 point. Had my eyes on him twice but out of range. Next week is looking great. 4 day weekend again. Cooler weather, xbow opens, and the bucks are on the move. Back out Wed after work.

Looks like Nomad and Turkey feathers notched a couple points each ala Red dropping one today!
