  1. The good thing is that my walk in to my spot from the red line to the X is a dirt/gravel road. I walk on that and then once I turn into the woods its only 50 yards. Also, what is interesting is that tree guys came in and took down a giant tree about 100 yards from the camera. The pics of the bucks are before and after this activity, same with the dog, so hopefully I'll be alright being as scent free as possible. I think they are used to human and dog activity.
  2. Thanks for your opinion. I added 2 things to the map. The orange X is the house owned by the Anti-Hunter, I was told by the landowner not to go on her property or she will call the cops, so going near her house is out of the question. The other side is all houses too, with fields behinds the houses. The PURPLE arrow line shows which way the deer come in, in the morning. The go the opposite way in the afternoon. The cam pics showed this to me and the landowner described it the same way. I have the camera on a 3-shot burst, so its like watching a picture book when i click through quickly. Then definitely come from the top of the map to the bottom in the morning and the reverse in the afternoon.
  3. I finally have a better idea of the property. Here's a map: The RED line is the approx. landowners property lines. A total of 12 acres, but the wooded huntable acreage is about 7. The BLUE X = approx where I plan to hunt. It's where I see tons of sign of deer coming through a creek bottom. The landowner said the deer pass through this creek bottom on his property to go from 1 farm field to the next and back n forth, etc. I also spoke with somebody who hunts nearby and he said this area of CT is very highly sought after to hunt. He said there are many 110-130" bucks that get shot during archery season in this area every year with the occasional bigger buck. Needless to say, I'm pretty pumped to get my first Xbow buck, happy I have 2 buck tags too. Season starts Monday, 9/16!
  4. I found this from 2012 > http://www.businessinsider.com/11-of-new-yorks-most-expensive-golf-clubs-2012-8?op=1 CRAZY!
  5. I hate Tiger Woods, always have. But what I don't get is, is the fact that he has millions of dollars, yet walks around with an ugly yellow front tooth? It makes no sense and annoys me everytime I see it.
  6. SWEENEY SUCKS! SWEENEY SUCKS! SWEENEY SUCKS! SWEENEY SUCKS! SWEENEY SUCKS! SWEENEY SUCKS! SWEENEY SUCKS! SWEENEY SUCKS!
  7. I just realized the 2013 PGA Championship is in Rochester, NY at Oak Hill Country Club. Must be a crazy influx of people and $ for the city of Rochester? Anybody going to it or working it? Better yet, is anybody a member there? I wonder what the initiation fee & membership dues are. I know down here in Westchester many are like $100K initiation fee and then crazy membership dues each year. I would think Oak Hill is right up there with him in prices, but where do these big $ members work near Rochester?
  8. I wish, but of course, they are always night pics.
  9. 4 More. The date/time is wrong on the daytime pic. Pretty good bucks for public land.
  10. It's typical shedding. Nothing abnormal. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Joe, just get another SD instead of lugging around a laptop. Just swapped em back n forth each time. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Cool pics. Are they bigger/smaller/the same as the Rocky Mtn. Elk in Colorado, etc?
  13. If it's in the book, that's what I am carrying with me. I will be hunting the youth season with my crossbow, my little cousin's birth certificate to show my age, and that page to show the crossbow is legal. Thanks!
  14. Hopefully I shoot a buck with my xbow in CT and/or PA. I will send Sweeney some pictures.
  15. I want to check my cams everyday lol, but I hold out and check them every 3 weeks. Now that I have cams in NY and CT, I have them on different 3 week patterns so I get to check cams more often. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  16. These athletes and franchises bring millions of dollars and jobs to cities. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  17. I started the topic to show the response I got, nothing more, nothing less.
  18. I went alone in 2011. 2012 I couldn't make it, went to Arizona instead. I will be going alone again in 2013. I expect to see some of the same guys at camp from 2011. I stay in touch with the guy who was my roommate there in 2011. He is from Orleans, NY. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  19. No, they will speed this up. I always hated Arod, always will. He will never be in the HOF, and that's what he wanted most. I'll be tuning in at 810 to watch his first at bat tonight. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  20. They are not sickly deer, they will look normal come hunting season.
  21. Looks like typical shedding to me. All the bucks in my pics from last August look like that too. These pics were taken in Putnam County > http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/11317-3n-bucks-how-many-fox-doe-fawn-bobcat/ They look 1/2 gray, 1/2 brown.
  22. It's open in Putnam County and Westchester (I believe), yet there are barely any bears. Maybe 1 gets shot per year in the whole county?
  23. "All hunt info is on the site. This year I seem about half the bears choclate, blonde, and cinnamon. The earlier the better for success , later season harder to pattern the big guys but honestly outa 10 baits I run this year 9 had some bruiser bears, p&y foresure but more than likely b&c. Hard to tell till the hides off. But all the bears are fat as hell and make beautiful rugs. Seen 2 rubbed sows in late June and that's it. All the bears had unreal hides this year. And if u check out pics look at the fishing there, its absolutely rediculous. Wife caught 25 pound jack right off dock and almost every cast u catch a 10-12 pound jack. The odd walleye , and further up huge lakers. And u won't see another person hole time. Very remote and some breathe taking scenery." As someone who spends a lot of time researching different hunts throughout the U.S. and Canada and has been on several guided hunts throughout the U.S. and Canada, I honestly think your prices might be too high. This is just my opinion: $4,500 for a baited bear hunt is pretty high, especially considering your success rates don't appear to be 100%. Just for a simple comparison, in British Columbia (where the guide has to be with you all day long), for the same price you can definitely shoot 2 bears on a spot & stalk hunt.
  24. for the experts, any idea on that 8? 3.5/4.5 and like 120"?
