Can anyone recommend a Colorado Outiftter? I've been out there several times (my uncle lives in Boulder), but never hunted.

An 8-year-old girl on a field trip to a museum was mysteriously hit in the leg by an arrow. According to SFgate.com, police reports stated that the third-grader from the Mary E. Silveira Elementary School in San Rafael, Calif., was playing on a replica of a whale outside the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley when she was hit in the thigh by a crossbow arrow on Tuesday morning. The injured girl was taken to Children’s Hospital & Research Center in Oakland with the arrow still lodged in her leg and treated for a non-life threatening injury. She was kept overnight for observation. Geoff Vassallo, 51, of Mariposa, who was on a field trip with another school, happened to be standing by the girl when the incident occurred. He told SFgate.com, "She was pretty calm. She was crying a little bit. She said, 'Oh, it hurts.’” He added, "One of the adults was comforting her, waiting for the emergency personnel." It's not yet known if the arrow was shot accidentally or on purpose. Police traced its possible trajectory and scoured the area. So far, a shooter has not been found. UC Berkeley police Capt. Steve Roderick told the San Jose Mercury News, "We have no indication at all that this was intentional. The little girl was on a school trip. From all indications, it was either reckless or a random shot."

I had a crossman co2 pellet gun since I was really young. I used to shoot my grandpa's .22 carbine at a young age too. Then one day my Dad and Grandpa let me shoot a real gun, a weatherby 22-250. I was definitely too small, I crept up on the scope and got some of my baby teeth knocked out, blood everywhere.

When I saw the NYB stand at the Suffern Show, I said "Hey Guys, Crossbows in Archery in 2013!"....Nobody behind the table was able to respond, their mouths were all full of french fries and nachos.

I stated the facts, but I'm an idiot? What a great response. I don't live in the city. I never hunted with a guide in NY. What makes you a better hunter than me? I'm sure I can sit just as still as you, handle the cold just like you, and shoot just as accurate as you. I never said I own an 1/8 acre that is worth more than your 1,000 acres. I am just saying that they do exist, so don't complain about your taxes and that your tax bill gives you more rights than others. You want to make bold statements, you will get called out on them. At least respond with some maturity.

Who is forcing you to own 1,000 acres? Who is forcing you to provide food and cover for animals? If you don't like paying taxes on 1,000 acres, try selling your property. If you dont like providing food and cover for animals on your property, then don't do anything. Nobody will care. You buy your hunting license ever year just like me. We both have the same "say". I don't get your point whatsoever. If owning property meant making your own hunting rules, then a lot more "yuppies" would come upstate and buy a ton of land and do whatever the hell they want. Be careful what you wish for. Just remember there are tons of 1/8th acre lots worth a lot more than your 1,000 acres, which cost a lot more in taxes as well.

Depending on what she is going to school for, will determine if a "big name" school is necessary or not. In some professions, after 2 years work experience the school you attended means nothing.

Who are you to define the term "nice buck". I honestly do not know him nor do I have any idea what types of bucks he has shot, but your comment is pathetic. In my opinion, any buck in NY is a nice buck, regardless of size or weapon choice. I have never in my life hunted with a compound bow like you do. What makes any buck you shot with a compound better than any buck I shot with my shotgun? Please don't say the challenge. Lets examine the difference between my hunting and your elitist hunting. - You hide in a treestand in camo. I hunt on the ground (no blind) in bright orange. - We both shoot deer under 50 yards. - You get to hunt deer in October when they havent seen humans in the woods for 10 months. I get to hunt deer in November after the bowhunters spooked the hell out of them. - You probably hunt deer over or near food plots. The Deer I hunt eat tree bark. So Belo, in conclusion, my biggest NY buck ever (basket 8pt, less than 90") is a NICER buck than any buck you ever shot. Get my point? Nobody can tell anybody else what a "nice buck" is. Lastly, Xbows will be allowed in NYS in Archery Season. Its not a question of yes or no. It will happen, just a question of when it will begin. Go cry somewhere. I hope some crossbow hunter shoots "your deer" from 105 yards away.
