Nice, yea It was lifelong dream for my Dad. His taxes aren't much higher than yours (non buildable land). I want to say only $1,100

That's why my Dad bought. He is not rich or wealthy by any means. Never made 6 figures in his life. Bought land to strictly hunt for $50K. Figured it's like a lease if he loses any money on it when he gets too old to climb the hills and sells. This will be year 7 on it and I'm sure he can get what he paid for it.

I've never hit a deer. Nor do I know anyone besides on this forum who has hit one. No sidewalks or streetlamps, just dark country roads but clearly nowhere close to the deer density I guess.

Got out in the woods in CT today. Didn't see any acorns in the trees even with binocs. Still crazy dry. No foods, no water within 1/2 - 3/4 mile.

I missed a target once out of 600-700 shots in career. And you were there. When TCIII brought the black bear and I tried 40yds with a 20yd new sight tape and I guessed on how to aim. To Hit the pool or Hot tub would be 15-20ft miss! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

20 years and no appraisals is crazy. Locally it's revaluation every 5 years.

nothing sneaky about it. It's just Public hunting land. They illegally bait it too. We find the empty bags. It gets hammered with guys, but most cant handle the steep hills so we rarely see other hunters except in the distance.

Not much more exhilarating than walking random pieces of stateland to hunt. I've technically never killed a deer a private land in NY. Every deer I killed since 1997 has been on public land (DEP, State Forest, or WMU).
