  1. Not worried I got AAA free tow for me if I get stuck but how to call cell service spotty up there .
  2. Do you need four wheel drive in the Adirondacks. Front wheel drive car with snow tires or chains in Adirondacks when there is snow bad idea what about chains just incase ? Good enough . What do people use up there .
  3. Leaves still on the trees when I was up there , I had my bolt 3006 and my takedown shotgun up there . Only had a 1 day and half . I Found a few spots that I want to check out next time I go back . So much land up there to explore it is overwhelming the first time you hunt there I love that .
  4. I went hunting there for the first time last weekend and yes it was worth it , I plan on going back first chance I get . Hopefully after some snow . But if your only objective is to see alot of deer in a short amount of time . It's not the place for you probably. It's a place for guys that like to see alot of country . If your not into that sort of thing may not be your thing . Like others have said much easier to spot deer near the towns then the woods up there . And bring a good GPS and compass make sure your vehicle is working good to because cell service is not guaranteed up there even on major roads .
  5. O Sorry but Read back the way you wrote that it leads the reader to think I am coming from the city to hunt near the city . But to your other point recently got back from a trip to navada rented a car took the scenic routes from navada to California and from navada to Arizona. And if you ever been out there you see , as soon as you leave the major citys you find nothing 0 population for 20 50 100 miles . But still I found more dead zones in Adirondacks then the 1400 miles I put on that rental car over there . Made me think something is up with that, either politics or environmentalists or both keeping it like that up there . But no problems I'm still going up there to hunt when I have a chance is not going to stop me if that is what you were thinking even near me in the woods that I hunt you have dead zones far back in places . But not expecting that on route 10 up there .
  6. Well that is why I drive there with my tractor when I go
  7. Here is a tip if you are new dont have spot dont have dmp Anyplace that is over 150 miles away from any populated area and over 1000 acres the bigger the better probably going to be your best bet . Or just go to Stewart or sterling Forrest
  8. Thanks for your input, but one thing I'm not doing is buying anymore convention rifles since %80 of the time I'm hunting in areas that dont allow rifles only shotguns . If I do get a another rifle for big woods country it will be a take down and most likely the blr lightweight Or Taylor Alaskan . Leaning to the BLR tho better selection of calibers . Anyone want to put there 2 cents in on good and bad of either one of those more then welcome .
  9. First time in 30 years a conservative has won a presidential election in Brazil.
  10. The one I see deer on they all suck and there all good depending on if you see deer there or not . And the bigger the better I like.
  11. That's cool I was just wondering why so many dead zones even on major roads up there that's all . And some turn it into something else shzzz
  12. First off I'm not from the city second I was only asking because other places I have been to out west that are even more remote then adiks have service at least on the major roads . And I find it funny that you would think that I'm funny for just asking, when so many of you guys are hunting upstate while surfing the internet on your cell phones which one member posted a whole thread about it . saying he could not live with out it .
  13. Just Google land for sale in the town and street you are looking at And one of the many online real estate websites will have all that info for you .
  14. Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area Pleasant Valley, NY 12569 (845) 831-8780
  15. If you dont count gas or tags I spent only a few bucks for a box of ammo
  16. That thing reminds me of the trash you find in the woods sometimes riddled with bullet holes .
  17. Yea they do in the catskills That's the point Kinda, no reason for it to be any different in the Adirondacks, Same state Who said it was a problem?
  18. One cell tower can cover between 22 to 44 miles so all you need is maybe 5 spread out on roads 10 8 28 and you could cover most of the Adirondacks . You have paved roads and power lines up there already . Dont see what there waiting for .
  19. Cheek swell is for right handed shooter on that stock btw Change out to this
