    So how do they have cell service out west in places much more desolate then the Adirondacks that is all I want to know .

    Maybe or maybe the people that run the park up there actually dont want to many people up there and that's why they prevent them from putting cell towers because they are trying to keep it for ever wild . And keep human impact on the woods to a minimum.

    I wonder how that effects tourism up there , because now a days everyone kinda wants cell service when they travel .

    If I'm not mistaken you said you went up to go hunting with your relatives at there camp someplace in the Adirondacks on another thread . Anyways it's not going to stop me from going up there just going to make me more careful when I go that's all

    I never hunted the Adirondacks either when I was younger. And I'm talking about going up there alone you said you go with a group if I'm not mistaken big difference.

    You are not making sense you dont have family ? Or anyone that may need to get in touch with you when you go away on vacation ? It's not like the Adirondacks is down the road from me lol

    Not the point I'm older now and dont think I'm going to live for ever like I use to . We got the technology now so why not deploy it up there and save people's lives potentially .this is new york state not Alaska for crying out loud. That being said it still not going to stop me from going up there . But I'm seriously thinking about getting some type of sat technology to at least be able to send a text out or something .

    Easily to say until you break a leg or have a stroke up there and the crows are picking at you eye balls when they find your bones because you could not get cell phone service not even for emergencys up there . When they have the technology to do it if they want .

    What about emergencys .especially When You are hunting alone ? They need something up there at least emergency single.

    But they can have them in death valley and all over out west lol The state most be trying charge them to much to put them up overthere or something .

    That's crazy I was up there last weekend and I was just on the edge of the park really and was getting nothing would not even let me make emergency call .

    Just wondering why cell phone service works in the middle of nowhere out west but in this state up in the Adirondacks you get almost nothing ? Could it be political or environmentist not wanting cell towers up there ? Anybody know

    You may think I'm crazy but sometimes I can smell deer or the area they have just been at that is when I will slow down or stop and look more closely at the woods around me .

    Yes that is a really nice big buck , town still wondering the town you shot him in what's the secret? Pm me if you dont want to post for what ever reason dont see why not unless you give out a exact GPS location or street address. Nobody is going to find your spot anyway , or at least say north west east or central Westchester.

    It's been my observation that if you dont move deer have a hard time seeing you no matter what you have on . And if you move especially fast movements they will see you no matter what you have on .

    Was going to go up to the Adirondacks but the wind and rain canceled that plan
