    I tried a series of doe bleats with buck grunts but I still haven't seen a thing. The woods are very quiet

    Cold and quiet in 8f. Not as cold as some of you but still cold enough to break out the bibs and hand warmers.

    Flying back from Salt Lake City this morning. Can't wait to get into the woods tomorrow morning. Cold, snow and the wind looks perfect for the new stand.

    Quite morning in 8F. I mean except for the neighbors dog which has been barking non-stop for an hour.

    400* for 35 minutes. Basically until the bacon looks done.

    Just got back out with the young buck. We'll be here till dark.

    It turned out great. Just pulled it out of the oven. My kids loved it.

    I don't know who started the conversation about bacon wrapped back straps, but that's all I've been able to think about this week. So here it goes

    Glad I got out. Had 4 big doe come in @ about 5:40. Unfortunately I sent one high about a foot over it's back. WTF!!! I'll be back out in the morning.

    All this talk about monster bucks roaming the woods was more than I could handle. Now reporting Live from the woods.

    Just a reminder to everyone that today is the first day to get "leftover" DMP's. Just picked up mine (which is why I waited until now to remind everyone else)

    Saw 7 doe yesterday morning on the way to work. Today I saw at least 5 fresh dead on the side of the 481 and had 2 walk out in front of me while driving home. Not sure if it's just coincidence or if they are starting to chase.

    Thanks, I figured this was stronger and more spacious than anything I could buy.

    I'm with nocked and loaded. We need to make sure we getting the next generation "Live from the woods" the boy and I put in this stand 2 weekends ago and sat this past weekend. Didn't see anything but still had a great time.

    Live from the blind. First hunting trip with my son. Keeping out of the wind.

    20 here in 8f but the wind is 15-20 and gusting to 30. Fingers crossed.

    Update, I froze my ass off for nothing. Didn't see a thing all day but a red fox around 9am. Back at it tomorrow morning. Good luck to everyone braving the cold tomorrow.

    Back in the stand till dark. Let's hope they are out cause I would hate to think I froze my a$$ off for nothing.

    That reminds me of a joke. A TV reporter asked a Korean war vet "what was the most trying part of the war?" And the Marine told her "Thats easy, it was trying to get 3" of frozen d!ck through 6" of frozen clothes every time you had to take a leak."

    Sorely Arctic Trek. Rated to -100F the best part is the room in the toe box that let's you wiggle your toes to warm up. Not the best for deep water but they shine when its cold.

    I checked her teeth and growth rings and I determined that she was 147 years old.
