SplitG2
Here is a picture of some of my corn and soybean plots. They were planted Memorial day weekend and only had two rains since. The pictures were taken after the second rain, which was this past friday. growth is a little on the slow side due to lack of rain. I will add updates in August. landtracdeerhunter
Really need a nice steady light rain for a day, would be like a shot of N at this stage. Looks good for the drought we're in.

Probably planted it May 1st-15th. The corn that got planted in that time frame is also 2 feet by my property.
cwhite
Split, Have you ever tried sewing your beans in with your corn? A buddy of mine and I have been doing this for the past couple years with incredible success. Plant the corn, then drill the beans right on top, then roll the whole show. I broadcast 15-15-15 fertilizer on top at about 100 pounds per acre. The beans seem to grow taller with more pods and the corn is still growing up to 12' with 12-14" ears. I'll try to dig through some of my pictures and show the results.

I have the ability to grow soybeans on their own and like to maximize my tonage so I don't. I have seen people plant them together with good results. I would love to see your pictures. dave6x6
Ahhh, thats some good looking dark brown dirt. Almost forgot what that looks like. Checked on apples sunday and i would say were at about 10% of normal years output.
cwhite
I'll try to get the pics uploaded. Gotta dig them out. I seem to get good tonnage but it is more expensive and beans took an awful jump in price this year. I paid $54 per RR bag.

dave6x6
I actually may be a bit generous with the 10% apple crop. Only checked the trees heading along the main laneway that are usually showing some saggin' branches by now. There are apples on some but just as many trees have nothing on them. BillJohnson
apples here are tremendous, far ahead of normal production, early macs will be picked in a couple weeks, nothing like the size we had last year but we also had a 100 year high for rainfall too. the soybeans attract deer now and in the fall by you? some years ago they planted soybeans next to my cousin in lake clear and deer never touched them, not enough to notice anyway, those beans were not harvested and come Jan the road was a hazard with deer crossing to paw up the unharvested soybeans. SplitG2
[the soybeans attract deer now and in the fall by you?] yes, summer, fall and winter. I will always plant soybeans. Deer love them by me.
