Corn coming down...

Was a little shocked to see it, but a road I drive by every couple of days had a few fields mowed down...both fields were in horrible shape, so I am assuming it went to silage.

Got p!$$ poor field of corn behind my house that will likely be in the same boat.

God can't happen soon enough for me!!...not a single buck have I seen and my ole reliable UPS guy has only seen one 160class on a near by road....corn has them hiding and eating at night....they have wiped out the first to rows in field surrounding us....

though the surveyors commented...you sure have a lot of deer poop every where back here...ya.... but never see who's doing the pooping...lol

We started chopping tuesday and most of the neighbors started this week too. We shoot for 35% dry matter for silage and when its ready you have to get it before it gets too dry. The warm spring and dry summer made the corn mature a little earlier. We're about a week ahead of normal.
