It's sneaking up on us....

Soon we'll be taking to the woods with stands in hand or on the way to a stand ...for us "sky hunters" ...Just a reminder safety first...check every thing well in advanceAND before assending or stepping onto a platform...

I had a service guy stick a "bee" in my head...a story of his 45 yr old buddy that fell just turning around to descending his ladder ...in a chair now..with a "you never know you could get hit by a car crossing the road"

I have not only checked ...re-strapped ...chained and used heavy nylon rope as a back up to ladderstands and home built...but I just bought 40 ft... and will buy more... of 1/2 in nylon rope and will be attaching climbing line to some stands...got to get that pursic knot down...I have a hook system I made a few years ago that I attach to the front of my harness...a length of strong rope with a deep, coated hook attached at the end... I hook on a rung above me... climb ...rehook ... climb

So just be careful every one...can't get my guys to listen but I know you will...be safe

Somewhere I heard that most treestand falls involve entering or exiting the stand. Unfortunately that is the time when most are unhooked from their safety equipment and yet in the most awkward part of the climb.
