Larry
I just saw a guy kill a buck at 105yd’s on a hunting show call Primal Instinct with a compound bow. Looks like you don’t need a cross-bow to make an unethical shot. The arrow had a nice arc to it he did kill it hit far back.
crappyice
Another great job by the hunting shows. At least you couldn't see the leesh holding the deer still from that far away!
wheelieman
Ethics don't sell. Morality doesn't sell, The big buck down is all that matters to tv shows anymore, They have gotten so bad i don't even watch them , When they hit a deer the night before and then talk about jumping it up and coming back in the morning, Then they show a very stiff carcass laying there, its pathetic, Its all about the dollar and getting sponsors, scent lock, rage, moultrie, Camo companies, this broad head is better than that one, Its all bull crap, every person needs to be them selves and decide for themselves what works for them, Not what some tv host did on tv, Like Craig Morgan using a crossbow to kill a speed goat at 85 yds its simply irresponsible of them to show things along those lines, Every illegal thing done while hunting or every animal that survives a bad shot that gets seen with an arrow sticking out of it reflects poorly on all hunters not just the hunter who did it, We are scrutinized every minute of every day and the non hunting population only See's the bad done, not all the good that comes out of the sport,
Kot2B
I saw a video last night on Youtube while hanging with the boys drinking some beer of a 110 yard shot a guy took at a doe. The doe dropped instantly and the guy had is 6-8 y.o. son with him and was saying some day you can make that shot too, kinda pissed me off. Why teach an unethical shot that would probably fail 90% of the time, IDK maybe I was brought up old school with the mentality of 20-30 yard shot max but shoot to bring them in to 10. wdswtr
Yeah its pretty sad watching them. 2 nights ago I watched this "PRO" hunter bragging his head off over rage broadheads after he shot a buck clearly in the guts and not front of the guts but just in front of the hind legs. Arrow didnt pass through and was sticking out the guts on the other side. All fist pumping and bragging about it being a perfect shot and only a rage could make that shot fatal. The "PRO" gets out of his blind within minutes and walks up to the buck that ran "30" yards and dropped dead. Yep sure it did. I couldnt believe he did not get a gut pass through either. hit no bone what so ever. Clear as day even in the replay a paunch shot. Sad what they preach on TV now days. Doc
You know, that's the reason that I took up bowhunting in the first place. It was the challenge of having to get up close and personal in order to be successful. More and more, I see that challenge being looked down on. Some of these guys would be just as happy, or maybe would be more happy with a rifle in their hands. It's crazy stuff. The technology craze has hit bowhunting to the point where there is very little similarity to what it once was. And believe me it won't be stopping anytime soon.
