growalot
So with this weather shutting things down for many of us over the next few days....I want to just make a friendly reminder...in the excitement to get back out...especially with climbers...the storm may pass...but the danger will not. After all these soil soaking rains and what ever winds that may hit..... tree roots will not be stable...you may think the tree is big thus stable but this is where the "bigger they are the hard they fall " saying comes in...Just be careful and safe everyone...and they call those broken limbs "widow makers" for a reason...heads up

First-light
Thanks Grow! My brother just called and was talking about this with me. We will hunt this Sat morning and will be real careful in the woods.

landtracdeerhunter
Good words of wisdom. Remember, trees are rooted for the westerly winds. These high winds are coming from the north, northeast. With saturated ground conditions, some trees will tend to tip out, like evergreens. We have already logged in 2" of rainfall this weekend. Getting wet already. Where was all this moisture through the summer? Anyways, eleven deer sightings this a.m.. Had a big doe 15 yd at 7:20 with great shot opp, but before sunrise. Watch as she walked away. I not taking off the next, but will be hunting from the ground away from larger trees. Good luck everyone. Anchor in. m, wish everyone safe. MuzzyLoader
Why is it that women have the best 'sence' sometimes? I would have NEVER thought of that and went on about my climbing like normal. Thanks Growie for 'bopping' me with some insight before climbing again.
