There use to be a en con law that stipulated you can shoot a cat in the act of stalking a bird. It was rumored that that law was abolished. One of these days I will look into it. Shooting a cat here and there isnt going to solve it anyway, societies attitude needs to change. People mown about coyotes, but whats the ratio of cats to coyotes, 1,000 to one; 100,000 to one, who knows?

When I was in Wyoming, the guides wanted us to shoot any feral cats we came across. My guide missed one out of his truck with a pistol. My dad shot one at 415yards.

The only feral cat I've killed(dispatched) was one that I caught in a foothold trap. He was in bad shape,so I ended his suffering.

We have dozens of them here...the old farm couple we bought our place from use to feed feral cats off their porch..no spay/neutering...no shots...lots...lots..lots of kittens. They both passed away and the cats dispersed...have one that hangs out in the hay barn ..but unable to trap it...only good thing I can say about a feral cat is...it east voles!
