Colorado Hunters Boycott

It's a pipe dream for folks calling for this ban.  They should look for another way to hurt Colorado DOW other than this.  Guys/gals are NOT going to stay home from a hunt in any state to make a point.

Me, I'll boycott Colorado by NOT applying again.  (Same as I've done for the last 7 or 8 years)

Like the people here in NYS saying to NOT buy a hunting license this year to send a message to Cuomo, good luck with that.  If hunting is as important to you as it is to me, you'll find another way to "send the message".

So we aren't the only ones having our 2nd Amendment rights messed with. I wonder just how many states are going through these kinds of attacks. What the heck, Obama doesn't really have to get his hands dirty. It sounds like the states are doing his heavy lifting for him.

Colorado has a similar situation to NY.  They have one major metropolitan area around Denver where about half the state residents live.  These are the areas that tend to be more anti-gun.  The population in the western part of the state is overwhelmingly pro-gun.  The CO DOW has absolutely nothing to do with the decision, so boycotting hunting in CO to try and make a point is ridiculous.  All it does is reduce the amount of money available to CO for conservation efforts.  Do you think the legislators that are passing these laws will feel that pain?  The only people that take the hit from that boycott are other people like us.  We should support them not boycott.

I have never been a big fan of these kinds of boycotts that are aimed at the wrong people. I really don't understand what is hoped to be gained by wrecking your game management agencies. In our case, creeps like Cuomo could care less what we do to game management. Also, there is a correlation between anti-gun people and anti-hunting people, so by boycotting hunting, you are doing the work of both groups for them ..... That's not exactly a brilliant solution.

There's just one boycott that makes any sense at all, and that is the boycott of votes for these guys. That's the one that's aimed at the right target and can get us the results we really want without a whole lot of collateral damage.

I agree with the above statements...THAT SAID...

Knowing I'm going to take a hit on this .....Taking in, that another state is going through this same BS as we are and seeing...in frustration..... some in the state are calling for a boycott...Certain statements should probably be best kept to ones self...

There's no need to repeat them...I'm just saying...your already walking in their shoes...

I'm probably not fully awake yet, but I am not getting exactly what you are talking about. I don't understand what "certain statements" you are talking about or what it is that being repeated. Sorry for being so dense, but I really don't understand.

Then go back and re-read the posts...I'm not going to repeat them to make that point ...If you see it fine if not Oh well...I believe there are some that already got it...

Well, if you have no interest in being understood, then I guess that's fine. Apparently whatever you were trying to say isn't anything that I need to concern myself with ..... lol. Sorry to have bothered you.

I dont take back what I said. I personally think any boycott of hunting licenses based on what gun control measures were passed in ANY state is pointless and misdirected, so I will not participate. I will gladly go out there and enjoy my hunt(s) as well as some quality time with family members that I havent seen in years.

Sounds reasonable to me. Beating up on a wildlife management agency because of the stupidity of politicians is a very misguided notion.

Plus lets all get our 2nd amendment rights wrecked and then show them SOBs by giving up our hunting ..... lol. That'll show 'em!

Doc ....sorry you took my being matter of fact and trying not to turn this into another battle.... due to differing thoughts and opinions...but as the "likes" indicated some did acknowledged an understanding of what I meant.

I didn't ask anyone to take back what they said and I DID say I agreed with some of the statements.....Concerning the collateral damage it would cause....but I STILL have the opinion that  coming out with  GENERAL Statements...Of hey better for me....Well aren't very supportive to a group of hunters /sportsman struggling through options on what to do after getting hit with the same crap we have been struggling with. Like it or not it's my Opinion...

That's fine WNYBH....as stated I'm of a like mind to the consequences to such actions...That said.... I hope you can see from where my opinion stems, looking at the first quick statements made...

I suppose I'm quick to pick up on some stuff...but having traveled across the country...and that would be in a car...and lived in another state...When asked where are you from? and seeing ppls faces look like you took a dump on their shoe after hearing NYS...well it sticks with ya...That's why you see me type the "Hills of NY" or the "Finger Lakes region"..for some reason...that softens that fact I hail from NYS.

We have family in Oregon ..California...Texas...Florida....Alabama....Virginia...Vermont....and I've seen that reaction in all of them.

There has been no request from Colorado residents to boycott hunting in their state that I have seen.  The boycott stance is being taken by some groups trying to get their name in the news.

Actually, I didn't take your statement as being anything because I didn't, and still don't, have a clue what the heck you were talking about and was asking for a little clarification. You decided not to give any, and that certainly is your right. My solution was easy ..... just ignore the reply and assume that I don't have a need to know ..... lol.
