Anyone going to try and get a bird with their bow?

you bet. I broke the ice in 2011 and did it again the 1st time out in 2012. going for 3 in a row.

 

if you can get yourself on the birds with a tent blind and a decoy setup, there is a real good chance you will get a shot.

Ive tried it a few times. Have the magnus bullheads for headshots but havent gotten to shoot one yet!

I have 2 so far with my bow. I bought the Magnus Bullheads this year too, going to try for the headshot. I have my 15 year old trying with a bow too this year.

Never tried it. Do you guys do head shots only or is the a bigger sweet spot you can hit with out destroying too much of the bird?

I aim just about where the wing connects or if he decides to show his back side for too long..the base of tail feathers and use my regular broad heads

That's my goal for the season.  There is one nice spot we have in town, where its bow only.  Gotta get it on tape to.  I don't leave the house without the camera!  My dad is really starting to get the hang of it so I have high hopes that he can get it on video.

no bow, but i acquired a 20ga muzzle loader i will take out as, long as its not too damp.
