I'm just curious if anybody else had seen all the logging and land that has been cleared out at 3 rivers wildlife management area in baldwinsville. An area I hung a stand in last year is now a field. Couldn't believe it when I drove by the other day

Have not noticed. I live just around the corner so I will have to see what is up. Sure does not need more waste fields.

I talked to a biologist from the Dec after I posted this. He said they are making some changes in the landscape to benefit the habitat. Going to make suttle changes over the next few years through out the land. Also are not going to "strip mow" anymore. Going to block mow. Some fields will get mowed others won't. Says not mowing all fields will provide more cover for pheasants. Going to try and make nesting areas for ducks and geese around big swamp on sixty rd too. Fletch do you do any hunting around there? I live right around the corner from there also.

boo I live on Pendergast about two miles from there.

I hunt a lot out behind my house but I hit 3 Rivers to do some bow hunting occasionally. It gets hunted pretty hard. Also I get tired of the idiots in there. Last year in one trip on my way out I hauled two trash bags of garbage out that I picked up from target shooters. I also have had bullets whizzing past me from target shooters using no backstops.....hunters come in and climb in a tree 50 yards from me!!!

I also used to hunt off the other end on private land towards the Bville side but lost access to most of that 2 years ago.

You?

I live up behind lysander park off Smokey hollow rd. I used to bow hunt some private land around there but I lost permission when the owner had family start hunting it. I will bow hunt the state land occasionally but usually only mid week. To many knuckle heads out there. I do not hunt it during gun specifically for that reason. I do most of my bow hunting now on some land behind my uncles house over in van buren. Going to be putting a housing development behind him next year so will lose that. I do most of my gun hunting in Penn yan. 3 rivers is so convenient at times. Just seems to always be an army out there on the weekends.

If you're talking about the Camille's unique area, I've scouted there a lot this off season and have seen good potential to say the least. I probably know what you are talking about the development (Ryan homes) and have seen tracks running right through it on the edge.

I was thinking about trying out 3 rivers but have heard it gets mobbed so I just stick to private land around and then hunt Morgan hill in truxton.
