First-light
Saw a hen this weekend with 8 plouts. They were no bigger than a grouse. Is this small for this time of year? Edited September 23, 2013 by First-light

First-light
Mine were smaller. Boy if we had a big early snow it wouldn't be good.

growalot
the three behind the fawn...are poults from spring....big size difference...if you have a good number of mature pine woods in your area...those poults on your cam have a fighting chance this winter...We usually don't get to bad of snow #'s until after Christmas....that's another 3mos of growth they have.... I have real big areas of standing pine. The forest is rich in resources right now, I guess they should be fine. Every 7 years NYSEG comes and spays the ROW on my property. This happened this year and it killed so many berry bushes. Not to say there insn't any left but the critters need all they can get.
