Bad timing

got in my stand Saturday morning after about 20 min, i look down and see a nice 10 point walking right past me and stops 9 yards right in front of me perfect broadside.

could see him clear as day could see my pins clear as day, nothing in the way. only problem was....it was 6:45 am.

Takes a lot to hold off and I'm sure a lot of people would have taken the shot anyways.  Glad to see you have some good ethics and follow the laws.  Good things happen to good people and you'll get your shot at him!  Good Luck

passed a 140" 8 only 10 yards from my stand last season because it was 15 minutes before legal light. Ate me up inside.

good call, tough call!! stupid mandated politicians law!  im my eyes , law aside, if you can ethically see your deer and pins,done deal... down in FL its half hour before sunrise, so basically when you have enough light... would have missed out on quite a few deer and osceolas especially if that was the case down there...

CT is 1/2 before sunrise, but just sunset like NY.

That's all a part of hunting. There has to be a cut-off point somewhere to start and end the day. Sunrise and sunset are as good as any.

One of the nice things I found in the PA hunting regulations since moving here, legal shooting times are 30 mins before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset.

Besides that, hunting regs here are pretty wacky compared to NY.

yeah hopefully ill get another crack at him. i'm not able to get out nearly as much as i used to now that i got an 18 month mini me . but cant wait to start teaching him the ethics of hunting.
