New corn food plot

Recommended Posts

Went up to the property this weekend to try a food plot project with my father that we have been talking about for years! It was a TON of work but well worth it. Had a great time working with my dad trying to race the clock to get the land cleared, plowed, disc, de rocked and de rooted, limed, fertilized and finally try the old Ford 309 corn planter. All within a weekend. Hoping for a little rain and luck to see it grow. Posted a couple pics of the before and after along with some of the work. post-329-0-15501800-1401843957_thumb.jpgpost-329-0-48272500-1401844084_thumb.jpgpost-329-0-72540700-1401844103_thumb.jpgpost-329-0-51723900-1401844120_thumb.jpgpost-329-0-79309400-1401844137_thumb.jpg

only problem with corn is having a big enough field to last till when you want it.. you generally lose 5-8 rows to squirrels and coon... hope it works well for you. i started with an acre and the deer had it wiped out by nov 1st.. i now do 10 acres and most time it lasts to spring(march)
