Maybe hunting later but in my area biggest thing I can hunt is a rabbit Im interested in compaund bows but as far as I see from online shops their price starts from 350$ and this is over my budged. So maybe a recurve bow around 150$ is ok for me. Can you please guide me? What should I buy? where sould I buy? How much does it cost? Thank you PS. I will stay in new york for 1 week soo I will have a half day soo I dont have too much time to travel around from shop to shop. Daveboone
I hope you have a great safe visit! I cant make very good recommendations any more (I haven't actively been a bow shooter for a few years), but north of Boston are two excellent stores you may want to visit for advice and shopping. The first is a Cabelas in southern main. You may already be familiar with the national chain. The other is The Kittery Trading Post, in Kittery Maine. They are about an hour and a 1/2 or so north of Boston, about a 1/2 hr apart from each other. Both have online sites for you to explore to learn more. It is very possible to find a used bow in your budget, if not a new one. Boston is a great city, and you should have a great time there, especially if you are interested in early American history. New York is exciting, but Boston is easier to get around. And don't worry aobuot language mistakes! We Americans frequently cant even understand each other. Elmo
Merhaba, There is a new archery range opening up in Long Island City in Queens by where you're staying but I don't think they will be open by the time you're here. Further on the other side of Queens are two shops worth visiting. They shouldn't be more than a 15 minute drive from Long Island City. They have instructors that can assist you in archery practice (you can rent some of their bows to practice with) and help you find the right bow/equipment for you. HectorBuckBuster
You may want to look into a used bow, but I will tell you in bows you get what you pay for. When I was looking for a new bow, I wanted a Parker. Well after shooting it, and then some one at the show I knew said try a Bowtech. Well after shooting the Bowtech is was like going from a Yugo (Parker) to a Mercedes (Bowtech). Go to a bow shop get fitted, and most places will let you shoot a bow first. sundust
Thanks for the answers. I guess I will look for the shops around queens. A used one maybe. Cabelas looks far for me to go.
