Crabapples & Wild Pears

Took a walk today and noticed that I don't have ANY crabapples or wild pears at all this year! Bumper crop last year, but none at all this year! I guess the stands that I have up near the crabapples and pears will be dry this year...

I just mentioned this in another post but it is typical that wild/overgrown apples only will produce every other year or even less frequently.

This happens to a greater extent the year after exhausting energy producing a bumper mast.

It's the same situation here. I watched the weather pretty close this year looking for any late frosts, but there weren't any. And yet the peach and apple crop are not really all that good. In fact no peaches at all. Apples and pears are extremely light. I don't know about the nut/acorn crop yet.

i have only found 2 trees that are loaded with apples, and 2 oak that have acorn so far. its usually this way after a bumper crop,, but it makes hunting a lot easier if you find a producing tree. Kind of like a bait pile ...lol oh lets not start on that topic again...
