turkeyfeathers
So I just received the second one ring and hangup phone call on my cell phone. Someone told me that they try and get you to call back and somehow whack you with charges. Not sure how it works or the truth to this matter but just throwing this out there in case it's truly a scam. A minute ago was VT on caller ID and the other day TX. Generally if a name associated with # doesn't come up on caller ID I'm not answering anyhow. Just googled and found this: http://ri.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LEVu6X39ZT5T8AY20PxQt.;_ylu=X3oDMTByMG04Z2o2BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMQRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkAw--/RV=2/RE=1406619672/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2fwww.consumer.ftc.gov%2fblog%2fone-ring-cell-phone-scam-can-ding-your-wallet/RK=0/RS=M2o4b82m07D7UxaxU_0cKU7UgsI- Edited July 28, 2014 by turkeyfeathers
Lawdwaz
It's only a computer based calling rig. If you don't answer fast enough or some other blokes answer quicker, it hangs up on you. I get 6-8 a day as I have three numbers call forwarded to my cell. Trust me........

And their location changing from TX to VT, it looks like the caller was spoofing caller IDs. The phone number is probably fake.

Lawdwaz
Funny thing though, I've gotten HUNDREDS of these calls in the past two years and I've called some back; not many but due to my business obligations I have to and I have YET to be scammed.........yet. I'm sue most of these things are computers randomly dialing numbers. Sometimes they hang up if all their operators are busy trying to peddle their ares to some other sap.
