I agree with Hock3y24.  It doesn't look like an Axis.  Based on the way the stock and bolt design.  I contemplated getting the Axis before.  Handled a few of them during the process.

Alright so it's not a axis I guess lol not a big deal still a good gun from what I read will be shooting all weekend

The Axis is Savage's economy line so odds are you have a better gun than the Axis.

That stock is much nicer that what comes on the axis, and you have a better gun. Congrats and let us know how it shoots!

I agree with Hock3y24. I have never heard of a axis 116, but a trophy hunter 116 yes. If I remember correctly those come in a package with the Nikon scopes. I have a savage 114 american classic with the accutrigger and love it! Enjoy your gun! Savage has come a long ways and is one of the best shooting guns right out of the box!
