DirtTime
After a very late and rough start to the Bow Season, I finially got out this morning. Wasn't eventful. Was sitting by 5:10 on the ground in some natural cover. I saw nothing. A few birds, and rain. Got wet, that was it. Still, it was far better to be out there hunting then sitting on the sofa. Planned to be in for an evening sit, but the heat and wet ground kind of kicked my but, so I stayed home. Have to remember to at least get a small hunting chair for now. May head out in the morning. Not sure yet. I think I may wait for this heat to break on the weekend. Edited October 16, 2014 by JustRob
NFA-ADK
Nice just to get out! Hope this cold snap kicks some doe into heat! I am sure it will at least get them moving. Good luck this season, you started at a good time, my buddy and new hunter is getting a bit upset at no sightings with very good sign. Looking forward to reading your adventures! DirtTime
Today was like 7:10 or so. Yeah, I know, I sat in the dark for a long time. First time out this season I was anxious. Not like the time differs much within the state. My rise/set time for the next week only varies by like 1 minute. OK, I'll bite, why do you ask? -------------------- Edit, OMG! LOL. I mean 6:10 Sorry. I told you all in my intro I was a typo prince... Edited October 17, 2014 by JustRob

First..........The time of sunrise is almost 30 minutes different from East Aurora and East Hampton. Pretty substantial I'd say and why would you get into your hide 2 hours before legal shooting time? Anxious is a stretch. Oh yea........not sure where you are but in Albany NY the sunrise/sunset change over the next week is 9 minutes, not 1.

mlammerhirt
Just download a sunrise/sunset App. they help a ton, takes any guess work out it. In my area it looks to change by a minute daily, which makes it 7 min over a week.

DirtTime
OK. I can't edit the first post, but I fixed it. I had a 5 where a 6 should have been Yes, I was still early. I hadn't walked into the spot in the dark before. So I was anxious and left my home early, and got there early. So, seeing as everyone else is so perfect, I guess a typo gets me flamed. That's OK. DirtTime
FFS! Sunrise today was like 7:10 or 11. I was in the woods early because of the thread I just posted. If you want to attack me, so be it.

OK, I see........I thought your correction was the sunrise time. So you got in at 6:10 instead of 5:10? No flame on the typo, I just asked you why you got in 2 hours before legal shooting time. How about that other little thing; the 1 minute variation in sunrise? Typo x2 I guess. Sunrise/sunset can bite you with the DEC I've been told!! DirtTime
This is the site I use for the times in my area: http://sunrisesunset.willyweather.com/ny/schenectady-county/central-state.html I also look at The Weather Channel. I made a typo. As for the time, I really don't care what time someone in Rottenchester can go in the woods, it's not my problem. Nor is it my problem the time a hunter in the Plattsburgh area goes in the woods. I am of the full light type. I took the light that came on my Tru Glow off! If I can't see it clear, I am not shooting. Ya know what, it's fine. I get it.
Lawdwaz
Hey Rob, you're the one that said this: "Not like the time differs much within the state. My rise/set time for the next week only varies by like 1 minute." I was just pointing out the difference between a couple areas in the state, one east and one west. The rest we've gone over........good luck.

Why not just let it go Rob? Bringing back to the top is only going to get more looks. I never doubted your ethics, just judgment. Don't sweat it......... DirtTime
Gonna let yesterday be yesterday. Maybe I over reacted. Can't change it. Been out a couple times. Last Sunday AM. Monday AM. All I saw on Sunday was a lot of people. Watched a few go in, and back out 40 minutes later. Mon. AM, sat for about an hour, got in late almost 9. Notta. Heading out tomorrow for an AM hunt. Expect to just see more people. Gonna take some advice I got for the area and just wait out the morning rush and see what happens. Afternoon, taking a ride to see if I can get permission to hunt an area I used to almost live in during bow season. Fingers crossed.
DirtTime
Headed out with no sleep............0_o Sat in a new spot this morning. Mild weather barely any wind. Found a nice tree with two nice lanes to shoot and sat down. I figured the people on the other side might kick a deer or two in my direction on their way in. Got in at 7, and by 8:30 I was so tired of ticks crawling on me I couldn't sit still anymore so I called it a morning. No deer sighting. Hoping for an evening hunt in NZ. Waiting to hear back. DirtTime
Hunting the APB behind the g/s's law firm tomorrow AM. Most likely the last time I hunt the APB this year. We shall see how the fever hits me.
