growalot
So this rain really is getting to me...I did go out yesterday for a mid morning hunt and it started to pour...decided even though it stopped a bit an afternoon hunt was not in the cards... So if you remember I have mentioned hearing and seeing an 8pt skirting me as I sat in two different stands over the last few days..actually this 8 bedded 83 yrds infront of me this week end.....I hunted this a.m. way past the stands I have been using and headed toward the corn in the fog and drizzle...wet and cold I pulled the card at other stand on way back in ,made it just two hours...heres what I got....... look up in rt hand corner

gfdeputy2
Yup sounds like me. I have the same luck last year I decided not to hunt a stand one day & the Big 11 pointer I had been after for 4 years skowed up & got shot less then 300yrds from my stand guy said he walked right past my stand pics proved it! landtracdeerhunter
See grow, should of been out there, LOL. So the question lies; If you were out and that deer would have walked in front of you, in range, would you have shot, given the weather conditions? mbucks27
Anytime rain stops this time of year the bucks will get up an move around a bit and is a great time to be out there even if it is midday. Good luck getting him next time you are out.
growalot
that is an old fence post...I left most of them because from the road it looks like the entire field is still fenced in ...instead of just the front area...that paticular post was left to keep me from driving the tractor over a persimmon tree sapling while discing and planting.... there are 3 persimmons 5 apples 4 hazel nuts and 3 chestnut trees lining that area...and some wht spruce as wind breaks...The stand is a wooden hang on I made a few years ago with a OSA failed construction ladder section16 ft...doesn't look it in pic though... PS.... landtrac...you bettcha...at that distance and angle he came in...with a fence to the rt(highfenced garden) and nothing but our land to the left and infront of him. it was a drizzel at that point...
