stoneam2006
If I remember right a few years back they were having trigger issues...but had a recall fixed them. I owned one didn't care for action much so I moved to a savage axis 270...good luck with it 270 is a great round

Elmo
Remington recently had a massive recall on their Model 700's due to "faulty" trigger. Check with Remington to find out if your 700 falls into that category.

irish_redneck
Buy a timney 510 trigger. 116$ for peace of mind. I have heard local stories of issues with guns of various ages.
Kujo48
If it was already fixed by Remington there will be a little punch mark on the bolt release.
ants
The latest recall effected rifles (700's) made from 2006 to 2014. All 700's that were in stores should have been sent back and repaired. Like Kujo48 said..look for a small punch mark on the bolt release, if you know that your rifle was made within the time period.
irish_redneck
Apparently the issue is more wide ranging, but they only had to recall ones that were sold within x timeframe.
jjb4900
they had a problem years back were some rifles fired when the bolt was closed on a live round......I'm gonna say early to mid 70's.
