wildcat junkie
I don't know why in state sale would be more difficult. You ship to an FFL & they do the background check.
jjb4900
I think in NY State sales are difficult because most shops refuse to do the paperwork and background for sales between private parties......not sure if the shops have relaxed that attitude as of late, but when the Safe Act first passed most were sticking to that, not worth the $10.00 to be record keepers for the State. I had a conversation with my local FFL about receiving an internet sale just the other day. He didn't have an issue with it. SAFE act hasn't changed the process of transfer has it? BTW: I have always paid $20 for a transfer. In the last 10 years I've purchased 4 firearms on the internet & transfered them through 2 different local FFLs. Lawdwaz
Hey Lawdwaz I'll speak to the gun shop fella in town tomorrow. I have people here that claim all they did when they moved here, was to have family mail their long guns to them through the regular mail. No matter how we do this it will be a nice rifle to do some Alaska hunting. Send me a PM and we can work out the details. Thanks! PM coming in the next hour.....Thanks! I would guess they're might be more willing to do internet sales and transfers because that price is not dictated by NYS............there are a few shops that add certain "fees" to each face to face transaction to make it worthwhile, if you find one I would keep it quiet. wildcat junkie
My 1st scope was a 3-9X40 Leupold Vari-X II I paid either $79 or $97 for it at Sols in Homestead, PA in 1968. It sat atop my Rem M760 that I bought at K-Mart for $150 the same year. Redfield Jr Base & rings.

Pygmy
I didn't think it would last long at that price. Now if it had been in a more INTERESTING caliber ( like .257 WM) Dinsdale or I might have taken it off your hands...<<grin>>...
