Some of their charts were a bit confusing to me but never the less, very informative. Pygmy Posted January 15, 2015 Share Posted January 15, 2015 Very informative.. Back when shotguns were mandatory in my county, I had an informal target range in my backyard. There was room enough for about a 100 yard shot. We were shooting directly into a hillside, with no dwellings, livestock, etc. for perhaps a mile in the background. Many, MANY times when shooting shotgun slugs you could hear them whine off into the wild blue yonder after striking the ground. I seldom if ever hear a ricochet when shooting centerfire rifles under similar conditions with expandable hunting bullets. FMJs would probably be much more prone to ricochet.
