Five Seasons
replaced my rain gear this year. The carhart realtree camo rain bibs and jacket, they are a real nice combo. There is a head phone gromett in the jacket to run the wire to my phone or music player. I do like to listen to some blsck sabbath while i dream away the hours on stand. Really? Heavy metal in the woods?

Two Track
I have to get a new flashlight. Pulled out my trusty mini mag-lite that I have had since 1990 - dead batteries. Opened it to replace the batteries and they had swelled up and not removable any more. This the one that keep in the house to grab when needed. Batteries get changed out every year and I re-apply petroleum jelly to the seals to keep them supple every 6-months. Guess I have spare parts.now. phade
Really? Heavy metal in the woods? I will admit to having listened to a few ball games while on stand. I hate doing it because it makes me less effective as a hunter, but at least it was a conscious decision. For some reason, it always happens on warm sunny days, too, when I try to tell myself I won't see anything due to the heat, even though I know that's a half-truth. Never elevated to Pantera or Cannibal Corpse, however.
Core
Regarding the many recommendations for boots, what kind should I be buying? I figure ideally I'd have a pair of knee-high water proof, and also some hiking, but with the absence of enough money for two, what should I get? How much insulation? Problem is a warm day in october can be way, way hotter than a cold day in December!

Knee height and the woodymax will cover you for all but the coldest days where a good pair of pack boots is really what you need. Two Track
Already replaced it - Amazon. Came with fresh energizer batteries for less than going to the store. Needed a case for my new phone and it was cheaper to get an Otterbox that way. Now I have a spare end-cap, lens, and 2 additional bulbs. I always carry two lights. Ever since one camping trip that the light-bulb burned out. I had new spare batteries on me and a spare bulb in the base of the light. Just had no light to see to replace the led bulb at 9 PM in November in the middle of the woods.
