phade
This isn't the leverloution line is it?
bkln
I don't have a levergun so I can't tell from experience but I hear from the guys at the club that it is overkill, too much meat damage and such. I guess I would recommend go ahead and try it and let us know how did it go. :-)
45/70
Yes its the gummy tips leverevolution I think the 160 gr. Would be perfect for the 30/30 . A little more than the 150 gr. And a little less Than the 170.
Larry
I've used the 265 ftx in my 444 marlin in the 444 they have to cut the cases back. I like there 265fp better. one of the guys I hunt with uses the 160ftx and loves it

Pygmy
I can't see 10 grains in bullet weight one way or another making much difference at 30-30 velocities,. Fun to play with ?....Maybe.... Difference in the real world ? Not much..
45/70
Not just 10 gr.. Its a spitzer not a flat point bullet And 2400 fps. It its suppose to make the 30/30 200yd. Rifle. Not saying it does .its what they claim. The deer I have got wit a 30/30 broad side shots none of the bullets were pass tru's. The bullet was under the hide on the far side you don't get much of a blood trail. I like a pass tru. With big holes on the opposite side. that's what I hope to see out of this round. 45/70
I don't expect it to work like a 308 165 gr. Balistic tip. But better than what I am use to seeing a 30/30 due.. You hit them a little high and they can go a long ways before you pick up a blood trail.
