6R Bear

Caught this guy wandering around. Had a smaller one a few weeks earlier in the same spot. Looks to be good size. I'm not a bear expert and have only seen a few in the wild. The last couple of years they have becoming more prevalent in our area.

Nice bear!  I wish there were some in Westchester.  Can only get up to the catskills once or twice a season early enough to get a crack at one.

Where abouts in 6R? I live and hunt in 6S and we've been seeing more and more good sized bear each year. Doesn't seem like many members on here are from around here.

SuperMag where abouts in 6S?  I'm a 6S hunter.. haven't seen any my way near Richfield Springs but saw one last year in Mohawk crossing the road.  Someone claimed they saw one heading towards our property but never saw any sign of it.  Hunted a lot of 6R growing up in the area.  Good luck Guys

That picture was I'm Montgomery County near Palatine. My son took one last year on the same property with a bow. That one dressed out just under 240 lbs. DEC did come and take a tooth from it the day after he reported the kill. They were supposed to contact him with the age information but have not done so as of yet. That was almost exactly 1 year ago. I also got some pictures this year of a couple smaller ones as well. As I said, we don't see them all of the time but they are becoming more prevalent.
