Lots of factors Ihes doing it on sumac on the edge of a soy field I could set up with the wind in my face yes but the spot is a patch of trees all that's behind the trees is a high fenced Apple orchard if you walk the edge down about 30 yards u get to a smal patch of woods with quad trails it does have very thick cover and he's not showing during the day or any other deer for that matter their is two quad trails going threw on the top one there is also new rubs all next to heavy cover

phade
Has the soy bean field been harvested? Will it be? If no, and not for a while....I'd lay back and glass the field from afar in the PM for a few nights to peg his potential bedding and travel paths. A late season soy bean field that has not been harvested....is a gold mine.
phade
Is that field corner between the two lowest blue dots a low spot for the field? If so, that is most likely where he is entering the field in the PM. Thermals dropping will allow him to suck in the air off the field for threats, plus it often gives good sight advantage with potential for quick escape routes.

Its harvested but a lot of beans on the ground and the low spot is in between those blue dots the blue dots are actually at high points the lowest blue dot if u look u can see a curve in the field that's the low spot
phade
That is most likely where he is entering field then. I'd probably glass for an evening or two to see if that is the case and then try to ambush him when conditions are right. If there is no pressure there for a few days he might get there early if a front moves in to get them on their feet.
grampy
For what it's worth, here is what I would do. Wait for a south east or east wind and hunt with the fence behind me at the low spot in the bean field. Nice pinch point there. And right in between a couple of the new rubs. phade's advice is right on.

Chef
How deep is the Ravine with the river..... If it is more of a river bottom he may be using that as a travel corridor as well

Yea but if you hunt between the low spot phade talked about and where they are coming in and out of the steam bed you should be ok
