Looking to buy a bow.

I know this may not be the right section but I am looking for soemebody specifically, in the Long Island area.  My buddy is ready to purchase his first bow and we are gonna go look at some new setups at a local shop or two.  I mentioned that he could probably get a nicer used bow for the same money he would spend on a brand new midline bow.  Thats what I did years ago and i was very happy.  His thing is that he wants to be able to physically see, feel and shoot the bow which i can understand.  Lots of nice used setups online but who knows what you end up getting?  Too risky for him. 

Does anybody in the area have a RH bow that they may be looking to sell?  He is looking at the big three, Bowtech, Matthews and Hoyt and he is also considering PSE.

He is looking for a good deal.  I just want to see what if anything people have that they may want to sell.  He is looking at brand new setups for like $500-$600.  To buy used it would have to be a good deal.

yeah im sure he can pick up a nice complete used setup for that. look on ebay and craigslist. Not sure what brand he wants or is looking into but you can pick up a nice mathews complete for that depending on the bow...

Buying used, just go over the limbs, sting & cables very carefully.

If something needs replacement, it'll wind up more than new.

You could also try the shops to look for new-old-stock on hand too..

Take a ride to Middle Island on 25 theres a store in a strip mall called Archery Forum, think the guys name is Chuck Stensel.  He carries them all, he'll let you shoot right there, he's there to help.  Got my fathers Mathews DXT from there and he also set up my PSE Bow Madness XS.

Funny you say that.  I have been there many times and have spoken to chuck and had my bow worked on by him.  We have plans to go there on Saturday!

I got my Bowtech Tomkat from the forum. Danny sold & set it up for me.. I'd recommend them as well..

So my buddy shot the new Bowtech Assasin today.  Its a 2011 bow and its very nice.  I want one.  $650.00 ready to go.  Does anybody have any experience with this bow?

It wasn't one of the 'top shelf' models, so most didn't go in to the store actually looking for them.
