how come if you start a thread you can not modify your first post or any post for that matter??

Are you talking about an "original post" ? I hadn't tried it but I know on some sites you can't change the original post so that there aren't several responses to that post and then the context would be changed . It would screw up everything .

its weird, if i wanted to modify my origonal post on this thread it lets me but i am unable to modify my origonal post in the general chit chat section.

i was going to modify my first post in my car thread but it doesnt give me the option...

Are you sure it just doesnt let you modify it after a certain amount of time? I can even see that being a good idea to keep the integrity of the thread. Try starting a thread to test it out, we can always delete it if need be.

yeah maybe its after a certain amount of time... ill start one in the general chit chat, just delete it for me. ill test it out.

Lets say you make an initial statement in a post and people respond to that particular statement . Then you go in and change the original post . That affects what everyone else responded to .

If you know the thread might be modified make a copy of it so when the person makes a change you can call him on it.
