Just sold my six year old Reflex. Looking for a new Bow in the $400-$500 range for the complete package. Looked at the Bear Charge package for $399 and the Strike package for $499 from Gander Mt. Has anyone Looked or held either of these bows? or any other bow packages in this price range that you would reccomend?

I'm looking as well...I was recommended to go with a PSE striker....went and held a few differant ones...I didn't like the grips on most...but the Striker fit me very nice...I have more bows to look at and then shoot the ones I've narrowed down to....I don't do change well ...but my Hoyt Raider/intruder is 15yrs old...it needs new string/harness...last time it cost 80.00 figure it's time to go for a lighter faster bow...and a little more let off ;)

I have been shooting the Bear Strike now for over a year, I haven't had the problem others have had with the string stops. I am impressed with mine smooth draw and little to no hand shock-viberation , of course the only other bow I have owned was a Bear Whitetail 2. I got mine set at 70lb with 26" draw.

I'm personally not a fan of the RTH packages. IMO you can get a better deal by buying the bow bare and picking accessories carefully.

For $500, I'd be on AT. You can easily get a good new 2010 mid-range bow from the sellers there for that price with plenty of room to buy better accessories.

Lots of sellers clearing Martin, PSE, etc. on there.

Im glad to hear its not all the bears Hopkinton, because i know of two guys that cant get them to stay together and i thought bear was a good archery company so i wondered how they could put something like this out. Hopkinton are your dead stops in line or set off to the side. The people i know having the problems the dead stops are off to the side.

Mine are inline with the string.
