Buckmaster7600
Culver..What is a 30-358 ? A 30-06 necked to .358 would be a .35 Whelen.... What is the parent case ?I second this question and after a Google search I'm still coming up empty.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rattler
Sounds like a .358 necked down to .30 caliber. Not sure what advantages that would offer.

Pygmy
A .358 Win necked to .30 cal is a .308 Win. A .358 Norma mag necked to .30 , perhaps.? That would be a screamer...I'm sure it's been done and somebody has probably given it a title..

Buckmaster7600
All I can think of in the background is my grandfather saying "there hasn't been a need for any cartridge since the the 30oh 6"Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pygmy
That's OK, Culver...I've been accused of having fat fingers myself. Like that little Dutch Boy who stuck his finger in a dyke.....

Jaeger
Maybe he is talking about going in the other direction. A .358 based magnum necked down to .30 cal.? Or a big 300 magnum like a Weatherby necked up to .358? I see Weatherby just came up with some new .264 super magnum to trump the 26 nosler. Blackpowder28
I had a .350 Rem Mag built off a Reminton 700 short action rifle a number of years ago. I do not think there is a better woods gun for deer and bear. That being said...Brass is hard to find and factory ammo even harder. I do find it at gun shows from time to time. I have not used it in a few years.....The recoil is unreal. It knocks my fillings loose and gives me a sore jaw. LOL. I still love the caliber but have replaced it for bear with my .338 Federal and use my .257 Roberts for deer. I have become a recoil wimp in my late 40's. Just my .2 cents Blackpowder28
