Padre86
I've searched through the DEC regs, but have never been able to find anything on this specific issue. Is there a limit to the # of rounds you can load in your shotgun while out hunting (outside of waterfowl hunting, which comes under Federal regs if I recall correctly). For example if I wanted to hunt small game or deer with a shotgun, is there a restriction on how many rounds I can have in the magazine tube? I know for semi-auto's, the limit is 6. I've never seen anything listed for pump-actions though.
Rattler
They do not require a plug to limit rounds in a pump action shotgun for anything other than migratory game.

Pygmy
There is no restriction for a semi auto shotgun either EXCEPT for hunting big game or migratory birds With a pump you can load as many rounds as your gun holds for big game or small game. Max rounds in any semi auto for big game is 6...Max rounds for migratory birds ( except crows and early season geese) is 3 for any firearm. No rifles or pistols allowed for migratory birds. Hope this helps.
