oak trees

had this posted in a different section thought i'd try here,

i've been hunting and scouting around the ferris/silver lake area for 4 years now and have yet to see any oaks are they void in this area?

i did find a few beechnut trees even found one on my land[10 acres]

i'm thinking of planting a few chestnuts next spring

that explains a lot about my property it was owned by a saw mill,but i haven't seen any on the state land ether.

Town and county histories...usually you can find on line nowadays...document the activity in the 1800 century and up. Like around us...they had a huge saw mill and would float logs down Hemlock lake......town and county historical societies do a great job of taking you back to the beginnings. More people should check them out...
