So finally got around to putting rucksack frame on my climber and attached it... awesome I recommend anyone who carry it along ways do it. I've seen some guys on here who did it and gave me the idea. Perfect. I can actually shoot my bow with it on my back. Having my climber on cost me the biggest buck of my life when I couldn't shoot bc it was awkward. Had a nice 10 pt walk out right in front of me around noon on the edge of a field. By the time I dropped my pack and climber he was locked up looking at me. I attached it with the orginal carry straps from the climber and also reinforced it with some wire I had around shop...pretty stoked about it honestly

That encounter with the buck was a great motivation to do something about the awkwardness of the climber on your back,that would have worked for me as well.

I might have to try rigging something like that up myself. I like that the climber is upside down too,that way the cable doesn't catch on stuff.

You have to stand up to shoot from the climber with the bow,right? That's what I don't like about mine.

You will not regret it makes it so much nicer...yea I have to stand but I always do anyways. I have limited reactive sitting and shooting so I don't do it. Stand as soon as I hear or see a deer even if its no where near me.

That looks good. I ONCE managed to balance my climber (summit viper) on the back of my actual backpack so that it was super comfortable to carry, but it was very wiggly and I couldn't replicate it. Now I put the pack in the back of the climber, hold the pack in place with the climber's bungee (used to attach top and bottom), and then I am good. I put the bow in my backpack's bow holder. It sucks and it's heavy. I could carry the bow but with that much weight I'm just beelining it to where I need to be basically and need both hands free for hills in my spot.

Does that setup hang from the bottom of the stand when ur in it? Reason I'm askin is on windy days the backpack straps I added to the stand for long travel would blow around so I would have to remove them.

Yes they do. I've haven't thought about that. They are buckles so I'll buckle them together shouldn't be a problem I wouldn't think. I always tie my backpack up next to me and it just dangles in the wind

If you do a search for molle frame with straps, it should come up with some places to buy them. I'd imagine you can also pick them up at an army navy surplus store if you have any local.

Per usual I spent way too long researching anything I bought, so I ordered molle straps a couple days ago.

The deal is there are "standard" and "enhanced" molle ii straps. Most seem to be enhanced. Some allusion to standard having long straps but couldn't nail down details. You can pay $25-30 on amazon or get the exact same thing, new from ebay for $16 shipped. I bought these:

New Desert Camo MOLLE II Shoulder Straps DCU US MILITARY ISSUE Army Backpack

These are apparently milspec which is great because suburban warriors love their milspec. If you want anything but desert camo you will pay a lot more for it and/or have to buy used.

Some guys attach these straps to the plastic molle frame, some don't. I don't plan to because I need my climber (viper) seat to pop through the bars like it normally does and the frame would get in the way.

Lastly, if the straps alone aren't enough, you need the molle kidney belt. It's about $11 shipped.

Yes it's hard to find exactly what I used but most load bearing vests with kidney belt should work. Mare sure you guys who are doing it post your pics too so we can all look at them if you would. Mine was an actual army surplus rucksack that I scavenged the frame out of. Could have been happier when I found it

I bought this. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/331956217470. As well as the waist belt. I just used the straps on the shoulder and waist belt to attach them. Then used heavy duty zip ties to further lock them on.

So I do not have the frame. All told about 30$ on eBay for shoulder and waist strap. With my heavy Titan the waist belt is a must.

Also have the third hand archery stabilizer straps. A summit bow holder. And summit front storage bag....

I throw my outer layer and my small backpack in the center of the climber for transport.

My Molle straps came in. it's shocking what $16 gets. They seem really solid. I mounted them to my frame and carrying ~50 lbs (climber + sherpa + backpack on back of climber) no longer resulted in my straps cutting my shoulders to ribbons like the standard viper straps. However, absent a kidney belt (since ordered) the weight was still all on my shoulders. But the straps did as well as they possibly could with such weight.

The straps mount nicely to the climber itself with the exception of the lateral load straps (so the entire thing doesn't slip to either side). Those don't reach long enough, a problem easily resolved with a loop of paracord on either side of the climber.

I'll throw a pic up once the kidney belt is mounted.

It looks like you don't have the bungee pressing on your heel to keep the styrups over the front of the foot...why is that?

Stirups.  Makes it a lot easier to put feet in and out without having to bend down. I still need to modify mine, although first need to order them.

But no bungee--won't the feet fly backward? I leave my bungee on all the time and my feet pop right in and out without issue; I have to say they work very well.
