Are all state / county parks open for hunting as long as they are not posted or just the parks shown on Suffolk parks and DEC site?

If it's not on the DEC map it is probably closed.  If you want to check I would call the DEC in Ridge they would have the answers but as stated I think most of the parks are closed unless they have a special permit.  Some you have access to with a green belt card and others you would need a permit I believe.

This sucks. Someone found the same spot as me and I'm trying to find a new spot as parking is limited where I'm setup... Sigh... What to do what to do...

Spot doesn't belong to him. If he was there first id let it be, but if not id say get in really early and let him bump the deer to you.

First year hunting bow on LI. Came from South Jersey one could simply find state land on the side of the road and walk in... With all the open state land and art of bow hunters you would think it would similar here.

I guess I could. Don't want to be the jerk my first season out.

How early can I go in? The rules seem vauge at best.

You'll see eventually that there are not many places to go on LI that someone doesn't already hunt. Just the nature of LI hunting. Good thing is there is more than enough deer around.

Bummer... How early is too early or does it not matter as long as I'm not actively trying to hunt before sunrise?

as long as your not hunting before sunrise your good to go in any time as far as I know.
