Deer eating apples

So the doe that My brothers son in law shot had apples in the stomach. We noticed that they looked nicely sliced like someone did it with a knife. I would think a deer would chew an apple and swallow. If someone was baiting with apple slices and they were small enough for the deer to just swallow could this be the case?

Unfortunately living in a deep valley, Our apples got nailed by repeated late, severe frosts. So if I was to get a deer that had apples in its stomach, I too would be extremely suspicious of baiting. Sliced apples really sound suspicious .....lol.

Gosh, I'd think that's way to much work. When deer eat the Apple's off all my trees they eat them unsolved.

deer have a four chamber stomach,they swallow there food whole and chew it later.the slices would be someone feeding not necessarily baiting them.
