growalot
Whats scarier than the sounds of a big storm approaching...it's nearly on top of you and the winds stop.....but so do all the birds...it is dead quiet out there and very dark round 3 for hail...hhhmmm can't imagine this is good for the pop up blinds...definitely not for my flowers pea sized.... dbHunterNY
couple weeks ago out this way we had a bad storm roll through with lots of wind. took 1/4 of the roof off one of my parent's barns. tipped over a hay/kicker wagon. then blew another one clear across the barn yard into the corner of my car. it wasn't a tornado that we had a couple times in the past that i remember but still intense. people were out power for days and BIG trees down everywhere. growalot
Being in a mature forrest I think has saved us a few times...though the goat barn roof shingles are all over the baddock...reminds me I need to get to harbor freight for a green or grey tarp...what is up with people using those nasty blue ones on roofs needing repair? I hear banjos every time I past one...

growalot
Actually yes...there are times when weather ...such as rain every single day or in the winter ice damning that causes leak problems requiring a tarp before a proper repair...That's just common sense ,thank you...BUT One has a choice in the actual color of said tarp, even if they do not have a choice in days that repairs can be done... Five Seasons
big storms were fun down south. In the 2 years I was there, a few times the tornado sires went off. it was always really still before the storms hit. Luckily they never hit us, but devastated some areas not too far away. growalot
Man you are right...and lightening seems to be completely different down there and out west...We hit some crazy bad ones driving both areas

I hope you realize I was just busting on ya. But, it it's a temporary repair, IMO, don't matter what color tarp you use. If you keep it on for months on end, the color isn't changing the fact that it looks bad. BTW. I don't discriminate. Blue tarps matter. growalot
We're all good...though I do discriminate against that nasty nasty blue color...can you guess I have passed more than a few of them recently

Luckily they never hit us, but devastated some areas not too far away. we don't get hardly any here at the foothills of the dacks. one year over 10 years ago we got one that came through just on the other side of a hill top. my parent's place is a hill with about 500 feet of elevation change with a couple converging valleys running into it facing north so they were lucky. not a mile away though my relatives had an entire concrete silo picked up and dropped on top of a free stall dairy barn. not a hundred feet away the multi-story house had a whole side ripped off. you could see into every room like a doll house. other side of the house there was a things undisturbed as small as a barn jacket draped over a porch railing. quarter mile away there was full sheets of tin from the barn roof, horse shoed around tree tops 30+ feet off the ground. the path of the tornado looked like a clear cut through the timber spanning across multiple townships. sh*t is crazy. glad we don't have them much at all.
