dbHunterNY
Helped out at a bowhunter ed course. i don't know much about crossbows so another guy got put in charge of supervising the crossbow. heard about not knocking the bolt firm against the string was bad. broken nocks, strings, etc. so i told him. so i'm tending to my group. i hear a pop. turn around and see the string off the bow. it was a told you so moment but at the same time i didn't think it was that much of a worry either. that something that is really that common of an error leading to an out of commission bow? grampy
On both of mine. Unless the bolt is firmly against the string, the anti dry fire mechanism is enabled, so the crossbow will not fire.

Good safety feature!
BizCT
Sounds like he dry fired it. Lucky he didn't get hurt.
