eagle rider
Im in my local shop last night and he's got what i think is either an old westerner or a featherweight on the wall. Looks to be clean with a bright bore. Not the best looking piece of walnut but good overall and good steel inside and out. Wants i think $550 ish. Says he looked up the serial and its a 1968 production 70. Thoughts???? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

eagle rider
I like owning and shooting the older sporters. My BAR's are 1968 and 70. I have a 1976 model 336C is 35 Rem. that i like to hunt with on occassion as well. I think there was something to the older stuff. Pygmy
I don't think there is a lot of collector interest in post 1964 model 70s, but they are solid, functional firearms and as far as I know they at as accurate as the coveted pre- 64 models.. If the rifle is in good shape, I would say that $550, while not a SMOKIN' deal, is a fair price .
eagle rider
deal is off, he won't move on the price south of $640. It would be cool to own but not for that much.
Savagehunter
I'd say $500 would be ballpark for very good condition it's not a pre 64 and in the second most produced cartridge.if it was a 7x57 264 win mag or 6.5 swede you could expect to pay $640 to $800 Edited September 21, 2017 by Savagehunter
