Biggest Fox?

So I was hunting with my daughter Sunday afternoon and the biggest gray fox I ever saw ran by the stand at about 5 yds.  My daughter said that thing looked like a german shepherd.  I had to look several times to confirm it wasn't a coyote.  Not exaggerating, I would have guessed 25-30lbs.  Is that even possible?  Every other fox I have seen looked the size of a house cat.  Wish I had time to photo it but it was not interested in hanging around.

Greys are typically 2/3 the size of a red.

Maybe it was the andre the giant of greys.  It was huge.  Or maybe it was a coyote in fox clothing.  lol    Hopefully I will see it again and get a photo.

Never saw a grey in the woods seen plenty of red...That's pretty big

Maybe a color phase yote is really that big? I figure greys are like 8-12lbs? Or maybe just a really nice fluffy coat and he was like 15lbs?

A German Shepherd is like 100lbs, so maybe a wolf? lol

We have a shepherd and it wasn't that big, but was 3 times the size of any fox I have seen.  I am guessing it was a crossbred foyote.

In all seriousness maybe it was a really big 15-18lber. I remember about 10 years ago, I shot a raccoon that I swore was 20lbs+, then I actually weighed it and it was 14lbs. I have two longhaired cats, that many people believe are 15-20lbs, but they are actually all fur and only 10lbs.

I don't know Biz, but we have a lot of the fox in the area so I see them regularly.  This one was way bigger.  Just looked at a pic of a 26lber that was trapped and it looked very similar.  I bet we see it again, especially come late Nov.

BTW - we have a cat that weighs 21lbs - healthy it aint but holds its own with the 85lb shepherd.  lol

I don't really shoot animals I won't eat.  It will get a pass, but photo would be cool.

between 65 and 130...never seen them much higher than that....depends on breeders...and subspecies,as I call them ...when the boys were young they topped out 130 and 125..their dad 130 sisters 90-100 and our little Angel 65.  All her pups were nearly 2x's her size.
