Power Outage

The power has been out since 5:15 last night . Sure glad I invested in the Whole House Generator !

Interesting that you should mention your stand-by generator. I'm having one installed in about a week. Got to keep that furnace running no matter what might come along the way.

I got lucky, my Generac was already here and hooked up when I bought the house 2 years ago. They sure are awesome! I just checked my propane tank for it yesterday and it's on 70%. So it's only used 30% in 2 years. No big long power outages during that time, I think it was on for 4 hours one time. Other than that it's just been the 15 min test runs every Thursday at 9am.

A worthwhile investment for sure, I invested in a generator after a two day power outage about 15 years ago in the winter. I have not had to use it a whole lot but this summer the power has been down more that usual and it has been fired up four different times.

This last storm did not cause any loss of power for me but it did bring down the biggest white pine in my front yard, about a seventy five footer, and of course it had to fall on my pasture fence, a big time mess. I now get to use some of my other good investments like my tractor and loader, dump trailer and chains saws.

The power was out in our area for 22 hours . It came back on around 3:30 yesterday afternoon . I let a couple of the neighbors that had generators running that it was back on and they could shut them off . One of the neighbors had his still running 1 1/2 hours after the power was on .
