Buck and doe in 'lockdown'

Cool to see the way a buck hangs with a doe in lockdown. They are very vulnerable at this time...and move in the middle of the day.

I watched a GIANT 7 pt a few years back that was in lock-down with a big doe. They didnt move 20 yards in an hour and a half, on their feet the whole time. He stood behind her just staring and she fed, at 50 yards. Finally they made some moves but it took a couple hours and i finally got to send an arrow!

I too had a buck come in with a doe in lockdown. He followed her every step of the way. He was a real big buck that constantly made this clicking sound. 2:00 pm. not a care in the world.

ive heard about that clicking sound, ever since I've always wanted to hear it in the wild. But my lack of being able to hunt the last few years, i don't see much of a rut if any each year now.. 

Thats awesome! Can you mimic it for me? lol

I saw it for the first time this year too!  It was a small fork buck but the doe was huge  they were in a spot where i hunt all day!

I've heard bucks make that clicking sound. I tried to replicate it with a large comb and slowly plucked  the tines with my thumb…another great idea that didn't pan out.  But then I never really got into calling deer. Spooked too many. I just grunt at them to stop them for a shot.
