10/21: hunted 4pm - dark. Brutal wind. Didn’t expect to see much and didn’t. But got to check my other cams and was happy to my top target 8pt appear again this week. Also pics of smaller bucks including the same 4pt I passed up on 10/2. The 8pt looks a little swollen

Yup. Last year early November starting getting them back on cam, so seems a little earlier this year! I got 1 more weekend with Mathews before my dad kills him with xbow lol

10/26: I worked from so only got for 2 hours of legal hunting time today. The morning till 830am and saw nothing. Checked cam on the way out and saw a yote smelling a scrape I pissed in. Also two small bucks fighting- a spike and the 4pt I passed up on 10/2.








In the afternoon, I got into a different blind at 455pm (sunset 557pm). As soon I zipped up, I heard a deer blowing To my left but I couldnt see a deer. So I did 2 soft grunts and a doe came right in. She was between 9-30yds for 30 full min. She had super long nose and saggy back, so she must be old. She never spooked, but no buck ever came in. Oh well. At least I got some cool videos.



Tomorrow is bad storm with Nor Easter, but maybe I’ll give it a try Sunday morning.

10/28: hunted the morning for 2 hours and the afternoon for 2 hours. No deer seen, but the target 8pt came thru late Friday night.



That’s the end of Mathews season. Onto xbow Saturday with my Dad.

11/3: opening day of xbow. I hunted morning till 10am and then 3pm - dark. No deer seen. Dad hunted for first time of year and went dark - dark per usual. He saw nothing as well. Brutal weather- rain in AM and crazy winds in PM. Cam had a few bucks this week, but at night.

If shoot the 10/31 buck if he’s 6pt or better and I think he is.

11/4: dad hunted dark to dark and saw 1 Doe in the morning.

I hunted the morning till 10am and saw 2 does and then 2pm - dark and saw nothing.

The night before when I left I reopened a scrape and this new buck (goofy 3pt) came right to it. Usually don’t get new bucks showing until November so hopefully things are about to turn on. Also noticed a bunch more buck rubs. Tally has to be over 25 that weren’t there last weekend.

I was supposed to be off from work Monday (11/5) to hunt but with the crappy rain again II decided to cancel my day off and just go to work. I’ll pick another weekday this or next week.

11/7: I hunted till 10am and then 2pm - dark. Dad went dark to dark. Neither of us saw a deer, but a bunch of new rubs popped up again. They seem to be missing the cams (I moved one) and missing our stands when we are there. The rubs this year are in totally different spots than the past 2 years which were very consistent.

Dont  know  bizz seems like the bucks around you only move at night  

Have you tried spot and stalk technique around the property maybe you will have better chance that way .

Typically most of my pics are daytime. Last year they disappeared completely in October and came back in November and December. Although both bucks my dad shot last year (11/8 and 11/25) were bucks never seen on cam before. So anything goes once it gets hot. I do think all the standing water is effecting things. The neighbor who hunts hasn’t seen a buck yet while hunting. He can’t remember the last time he had a season like this.

 

I’ll definitely still hunt with a shotgun once it’s in season.

11/11: I hunted the morning and saw nothing. I’m done till gun season. Frustrating bow/xbow season for me. Way less deer seen than last year.

My dad hunted dark to dark and saw 3 deer midday around 1pm. 2 does and 1 unidentifiable

11/12: while I was at work, Dad hunted dark to dark. He saw 7 deer (6 doe/fawn and 1 3pt buck). All 7 passed by between 7-10am and in shooting range under 25yds. 3 of them at 10 FEET.

 

Tomorrow looks like bad rain so he may not hunt.

11/14: while I was at work, Dad hunted dark to dark. He saw a spike at 730am sniffing a new buck rub and scrape.

11/15: while I was at work, dad hunted morning till 11am. No deer seen but he saw 2 big red fox at 730am but couldn’t get shot. 45yds a little too far for his comfort level.

He’s not hunting tomorrow, so it’s into gun season. Saturday will be my first opening day not hunting with my Dad since I began going with him in the late 90’s. I’m heading to WNY to hunt the opening weekend with TCIII and SodFather. Time to dust off the rifle!

11/17:

Dad hunted 3N. Shot a yote and saw a doe. Tracked the yote with light blood for over a mile before it crossed a road and into private property. Blood was very light so he gave it up.

I hunted 9J with TCIII and SodFather. I saw a 4pt under 30 yards. Sod shot him a few minutes later. Then I saw 2 does at 2pm and 2 fawns at 430pm.







I’m driving today but will most likely hunt tomorrow (weather permitting) in 3N.

11/18: while I drove back from WNY, dad hunted dark to dark and saw a small yote running (no shot) off the in distance and 1 doe.

I’m off tomorrow to hunt, hopefully rain isn’t too bad. Will check cams also. According to my dad, there’s been nice bucks on cam this past week

11/19: dad hunted dark to dark and saw a doe and a small buck in the morning.

I hunted the morning till 10am and the afternoon 130-dark, no deer seen.

Checked the cams and have yotes 7 days out of last 10. Not a good time for them to show up.

Did get pics of a spike, broken 4pt and nice 8pt recently but not since all the yotes came.
