I Know What It Is.............Different Find!

So today I was hunting in Arcade and found this thing that appears to be horn from a young bull calf?  Just now I Googled it and found that young bulls/cows are dehorned with a electric dehorner. There are a couple dairy farms in the area so I guess it could have been picked up by a fox or some other critter and carried a half mile or so to where I found it.  I've hunted here for better than 30 years and never found one of these before.  Weird..........(oh and it stinks BAD now that I have it home)

Cool find Larry!

I've picked up a few of those over the years while shed hunting, but not quite as fresh as that!

Same deal as yours... I'd imagine they must have got carried away by some critter to end up where I found them.

You can sand those suckers down and polish it up to a shiny finish, then seal it. Hawg out the inside and you'll have yourself a fancy Viking shot glass!:drinks:

Leave it in a plastic bag for a few days and the core will come out.

I de horned a few Holsteins and some goats with a burner; wooooo! STINK with the smell of burning bone and fur.

I can only imagine the smell........gawd!

I used to use raw feathers (from gobblers I killed) to fletch my cedar shafts back in the 80's & 90's and then burn them to a parabolic shape with the feather burner.  My wife, kids & dog would FREAK at the smell. :)
