BowmanMike
I had some time to go fishing around noon yesterday and wasn't convinced it was a good time. When i got to my parking spot i saw a few rises upstream from the bridge. Maybe not so bad after all. I suited up and got close. The fish were feeding on something beneath the surface,as there was no obvious hatch on. I used a dry as an indicator and put an emerger as a dropper. The fish didnt like my first choice, but when i switched to a hares ear nymph they started hitting. I caught a bunch without having to move at all. It was great!
grampy
Sounds like an awesome outing! I love fishing the Schenevus! Usually start out by the Tanner St. bridge. There are some big trout in that creek!!!
Culvercreek hunt club
I've probably caught more trout on a hares ear nymph than anything else I have ever used.

BowmanMike
Grampy, you are so right. The creek does hold some monsters. I saw pictures of two browns some friends caught last fall, they were both well over 20 inches and fat.
